At Lynn's Art Gallery, my mission is to bring you original works of art. Browse the gallery, choose a work and have it printed and shipped to your door. Original pieces are available by request. And none of this would be possible if it weren't for my wife of 39 years. She prodded me to start showing my art.
I started painting in September 2022. My only art lessons were back in the late 70's when I was in 7th and 8th grade. But none of my instructions ever included painting lessons. I did learn about sketching and shading. Mr. Saunders was my 7th/8th grade art teacher. He's probably the biggest influence on my artistic knowledge. I hope you'll see a progression in my work because it's so new that I'm continually in a learning process with each piece.
So, without ever painting before, I decided to give it a try for relaxation purposes.
After my first painting I felt like this was something I would enjoy. By my 4th painting I started believing that I could actually "do something" with this new-found activity. Originally I was determined to not name my paintings but rather number them in consecutive order that I paint them. As of February 2 I have completed 56 paintings and working on Number 57. I do give my paintings names now, but it's hard for me because I'm so new to the art world. I really don't try to convey a message in my work but rather make something pretty. Something that a person would appreciate enough to decorate their walls with. I enjoy creating something people love and something that brings joy to their hearts. We need joy in this world!

A lot of the photos used for bird subjects are taken by a family member who is an avid birder/photographer Laurie Lawler Photography. Plans are to move into doing more landscape and big sky paintings but also including birds into the works. I've done several commissioned paintings of landscapes and animals.
Currently I don't have a dedicated studio. I actually paint in our dining room at the end of our kitchen island. This allows me to be closer to my wife in the afternoons and evenings. We both have full time jobs and time together is precious.
